JCF Statement on COVID-19

Dear JCF Friends,

The Jewish Community Foundation has been closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19. The uncertainty surrounding the virus can be unsettling. We recognize the potential effect that can have on financial markets, and professional and personal lives. We want all of our constituents to be aware that JCF has been working to address this on all fronts.

First and foremost, JCF has taken significant steps to ensure business continuity in the case of any business disruptions. Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and ongoing support of our donors and partner institutions.

The financial markets are facing a volatile period, and are being continually monitored. We are in constant contact with our investment partners at SEI. Yesterday, the JCF Executive and Investment Committees and staff had a conference call with Glenn Harris, our portfolio manager at SEI. We discussed the stock market volatility, our current investments and all of our options. Our portfolio is well-diversified and is actively managed to weather storms such as this. We will continue to closely monitor the financial markets and the Investment Committee will make adjustments as necessary. SEI has released this statement on the virus’s impact on the market.

In addition, JCF staff has implemented procedures to ensure that there is no significant disruption in our operations due to any scenarios where we have to work remotely. These decisions are being coordinated with our partners at the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. We will be sure to keep you posted with any updates.

We wish to reiterate that we are here to help and continue to stay focused on our long term goals. If you have any questions about your funds, please do not hesitate to call. Our mission is to help your philanthropy succeed.

On a personal level, we wish you all good health, and hope your families remain safe.

Finally, we say thank you for choosing the JCF as your philanthropic partner.
