Many Ways You Can Continue Your Support of the Jewish Community

The following is a reprint of an article published in the September 30, 2026 issue of the Jewish Community Voice, titled, "Many Ways You Can Continue Your Support of the Jewish Community":
As someone who supports the Southern New Jersey Jewish community, THANK YOU for being a donor, volunteer, or other VIP who makes this community a great place to live, work, and play.
Over the next few months, the Board and staff of the Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. (JCF) invites you to continue your support with the following opportunities:
Open a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
If you annually donate to charitable organizations such as the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey (JFSNJ) and its family of agencies, your synagogue, a day school, or other Jewish or secular nonprofits, a DAF with the JCF can simplify and enhance your philanthropy. Open an account with online access, contribute cash or appreciated assets such as stocks or ETFs, earn immediate tax benefits, and recommend grants to your favorite causes at any future time. Visit: jcfsnj.org/daf
Start an Endowment Fund
Imagine if you could donate to your favorite charity to ensure it thrives for many future generations. With an endowment fund, you can make that happen! When you establish a personalized, named endowment fund with the JCF, any tax-deductible contributions you add into it are invested and spin off a percentage to your selected charitable cause every year into the future. Create Your Jewish Legacy
An alternative (or enhancement) to starting an endowment fund during your lifetime is to leave a gift in your will to benefit the charitable cause(s) you cherish. Your after-lifetime gift will grow an endowment fund to ensure that your legacy of giving carries on for countless generations. Even if you plan to live to 136, you still need a will! Leaving a legacy gift in your will can be easy to do and cost you nothing during your lifetime. Plus, when you support a local Jewish organization, you can help them earn an incentive grant thanks to the Harold Grinspoon Foundation’s Life & Legacy initiative. Check out: jcfsnj.org/life-legacy
Secure a Matching Gift
This could work in two ways. First, if your employer matches charitable gifts that you initiate through your payroll, it’s a valuable opportunity to be able to give more to the Jewish community, and the match can even be used to launch an endowment fund. And second, many generous donors in the community offer a matching gift to grow a campaign, and your gift can be increased accordingly. One such match is for the PJ Library Endowment Fund: If you support this endowment, Neil & Jodi Levine will match your gift by 50% up to $100,000 in total gifts, and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (the administrator of PJ Library) will match it by 25% up to $1-million in total gifts. Every contribution of any amount will ensure Jewish families can receive Jewish-themed books each month in the mail. Donate today: jcfsnj.org/pj-library
Involve Your Children or Grandchildren
What could be more rewarding than sitting side by side with your children or grandchildren and partnering with them to support their tzedakah? In the coming months, you can help them give back to our Jewish community on Giving Tuesday on December 1, as well as the fifth night of Chanukah, which is when many families provide tzedakah rather than accepting gifts like on the other seven nights of the holiday. Lastly, you can establish a “mini-DAF” called a B’nai Tzedek Fund for your children under 18, to acquaint your young ones with their own online giving account. Get started: jcfsnj.org/btf
