Founded in 2021 by Ruthie Halpern, TRU Partnership is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Voorhees, NJ that helps those in need in the Southern New Jersey community. TRU Partnership "provides essential and joy-enhancing goods such as toys, clothing, furniture, and household items, all sourced through donations and upcycling."
The following event recap and photo gallery at bottom were provided by Ruthie Halpern, and we are happy to share this news as a partner in the program by way of one of our donors who chose to support this charitable initiative:
TRU Partnership hosted our first-ever Kids Summer Giveaway for children and families in the Camden community on July 11, 2026. The event was made possible through a generous grant from the Frances & Daniel Schwartz Charitable Foundation through the Jewish Community Foundation, with the goal of helping children have a fun, active, and engaging summer.
Children were able to choose from hundreds of free items, including toys, games, books, puzzles, craft supplies, and sports equipment. Grant funding helped cover many of the event expenses, including the purchase of more than 100 basketballs, footballs, soccer balls, jump ropes, and other outdoor play equipment. The first 100 children each received a new piece of sports equipment, bubbles, and sunglasses.
Thanks to the generosity of Brian and Sam Schnoll, over 2500 Fla-Vor-Ice pops were purchased for the event so children could take them home to freeze and enjoy throughout the summer. Brian, Sam, and their children also volunteered together, running the sports equipment and Fla-Vor-Ice tent and helping ensure every child received their gifts.
Attendance included just under 100 children, along with an additional 100 parents and caregivers. Along with the children's items, adults were able to select from a large assortment of free clothing, shoes, and linens.
The celebration included a huge free raffle with large prizes of bicycles, dollhouses, toy kitchens, ride-on toys, play furniture, and many other special items.
TRU Partnership is deeply grateful to the Frances & Daniel Schwartz Charitable Foundation for its generous support, and to the Jewish Community Foundation for making this grant possible. Together, they helped provide children and families with a day filled with fun, practical resources, and lasting memories.
